Maria Teresa Maldonado nacio en la Bella Isla de Puerto Rico en el Barrio Amelia de Cataño, la hija mayor de Nelida Y Elius Maldonado. La musica siempre le ha encantado. Es el arte bien conbinar los sonidos de tal manera que agrade al oido. Cuando apenas tenía 7 años soñaba con ser úna famosa y gran cantante.
A los 15 años, Maria tuvo una serie de sueños y se los contaba a una amistad Cristiana de nuestra familia. Quien le dijo: "Cristo, te esta haciendo un llamado especial, atravez de esos sueños".
Cumpliendo sus 16 años, reconosio acabalidad el sacrificio de Cristo en la Cruz del Calvario y le acepto como su Salvador.
Mediante estudios Teologicos, en el Instituto Biblico Mizpa, hoy conosido como Colegio Mizpa de Puerto Rico, Maria Teresa escribio las siguientes composiciones entituladas:
- CLAMOR DE MARIA MAGDALENA
Un dia Maria Teresa recibio una llamada telefonica desde la Florida, E.U. Era el jefe editorial de la revista "Vanidades" un magazine muy famoso hasta el dia de hoy. El le dijo: pondre todo mi dinero detras de tu voz por tal de que cantes "Musica Pop". Dejo por asentuado: "Cantare, solo para Jesucristo y su pueblo.”
El Senor le ha consedido a Maria, el gran privilegio de cantar en Puerto Rico, Nueva York, Madison Square Garden, Shea Stadium, Teatro Rio Piedras, Teatro Puerto Rico, Brooklyn Academy of Music, en la Isla de Curasau y Telecurasau, y atravez de los Estados Unidos y aun mas lejos.
Maria recogocija y le da la "Gloria a Dios".
Ella mira hacia el pasado - Dandole gracias a Dios por haberle dado los siguientes privilegios:
- Coordinadora de "Unamos Nuestra Manos" junto a los Cantantes Cristianos pro compra de la Emisora Radio Vision Cristiana.
- Anfitriona y Productora de "La Hora Evangelica" programa de television cable en Nueva York. Fundadora de la Iglesia "El Verbo Incorporated" de las Asambleas de Dios.

Maria se encuentra soletera de nuevo. Pero ella sigue siendo una madre ejemplar de cinco niños y la abuela de dos nietos. Ella vive en Pennsylvania y continúa cantando para el Señor cada oportunidad que ella consigue.

Maria Teresa Maldonado was born in the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico in the District Amelia de Cataño, the eldest daughter of Nelida and Elius Maldonado. Music has always enchanted her because in her words "It is the affluent art that combines sounds in such a way that it pleases ones ear". Barely a child of 10 years of age, she dreamed of one day becoming a famous and great singer. At around the age of 15, Maria had a series of dreams that had a tremendous impact on her young life and shared them with a devout Christian friend of her family. Who said to her: "Christ is making a special calling to you through those dreams". When she turned age 16 she realized the sacrifices that Christ had made for her on Calvary and accepted Him as her personal Savior. She pursued studying theology, in the Bible Institute Mizpa, known today as Mizpa School of Puerto Rico. Since then she has sang through a ministry that has spanned over 30 years and which has produced 16 Christian Music CDs. Listed below are some of Maria Teresa's compositions entitled:
- The Outcry of Mary Magdalene
One day Maria Teresa received a telephone call from the head of a highly recognized publication in the state of Florida in the United States. The publication was called "Vanities" which is still in existence. He said to Maria Teresa: I will invest all of my finances in your voice if you would sing "Pop Musica", but Maria highly emphasized to this man: “I will sing, only for Jesus Christ and the people of God." Since then the Lord has blessed Maria with the great privilege of singing in Puerto Rico, New York, Madison Square Garden, Shea Stadium, Rio Theater Rio Piedras, Theatre Puerto Rico, Brooklyn Academy of Music, in the Island of Curasau and Telecurasau, and thoughout the United States and other foreign countries.
Maria rejoices and gives all the "Glory to God". She affectionately looks back at the past thanking God for also having given her the opportunity to collaborate among others on the following causes and projects: Coordinator of "We unite Our Hands" next to the Christian Singers which raised funds for the purchase of the Radio transmitter for the Christian Vision Radio station. She served as host and producer of "The Evangelical Hour" television cable program in New York and was also founder of the Church "The Verb Inc." of the Assemblies of God. Maria Teresa also serves as teacher of the Bible and as a preacher of the Gospel. She is a mother of five children and is also composer of sacred music. She also had a career as a certified nurse.
She praises God for all of the privileges that the Lord has extended to her and says “God is whom He has said that He is”. It is safe to presume that Maria Teresa feels this way because, there is no doubt that, He has been the keeper of all of His promises to her.
Maria is single, but she continues to be an exemplary mother of five children and grandmother of soon to be two grandchildren. She lives in Pennsylvania and continues to sing for the Lord every chance she gets. She prays that the Lord will one day bless her with meeting a wonderful Christian Pastor that she might help support in his work for the Lord.
